I am

There is a famous story of G.K. Chesterton and a newspaper editorial entitled, "What's Wrong With the World?" His response, in the form of a brief letter was:

Dear Sirs,

I am.

Sincerely, G. K. Chesterton

I must thank dear Mr. Chesterton daily for this thought, this gospel message that humbles me every time I think on it.  Today, I even got to use it.  I quote it both shamelessly and accurately to Baby Rosebud.

Mama, what's a hypocrite? 

Dear Daughter, 

I am.

Sincerely, mama

When I forget that my babies are the image and likeness of my Lord and Saviour, that whatsoever I do to them, I do also to Him.  I am.  I wish I wasn't.  But.  I am.

I am.  Weak.

I am.  Fallen.

I am.  Small.

I am. Not able to do it without You.

I am.  Grateful for the mercy wrought through the blood of the Lamb.
