cruise ship
So the very best thing about pipping eggs is this. I get a total holiday. For the next four or five days, the jokes will be completely immersed in egg watching. And then chick watching. Not away from my kids, but with them. They spend silent long hours staring at the eggs. No one will argue. No one will beg to go on the computer. Their life will be spent staring in awe at chicks emerging from eggs.
I will get reports every 30-45 minutes on the egg status. During the egg watching, I will be able to catch up on the laundry. Get my reading done. Clean the storage room. And between all of my catching up on chores and such, I will check in on children enthralled. And I will have some leisure time. I rarely leis during leisure time, but how I love not having to do anything. Just to think that I could exercise the option of not doing anything thrills me.
Alice and Polly and I can drink tea. Maybe we can watch the five and a half hour version of Pride and Prejudice. Maybe I'll read To Kill a Mockingbird again. Or sew the dress I started before Christmas. Oh, how I will wile away the hours in the solarium. Maybe I'll get bored! How indulgent of me.
It will be exactly like a holiday on a cruise ship.
