indelible marks
Today my happy and holy chicken-y boys received indelible marks on their beautiful souls. So blessed. And Huck started sacramental living. He made his first confession yesterday and today received his Saviour in the most special way. Squeaky clean, grace-filled with the Eucharist, filled with the Holy Spirit and all those gifts to pave the way for these boys to begin the arduous task of emptying themselves and living the Gospel.
It starts in little was and things, this maturation of faith. "Mama, I prayed for you last night, I knew you weren't feeling well." piety
"The professor was teasing me. And I didn't get mad. I just didn't. I just came in the house." counsel
"God really wants me to get to heaven, doesn't he?" understanding
"Its hard work being a dad, isn't it Dad? You're a really good dad." wisdom
"I don't dress that way. I don't want to." fortitude
"This year, I'm going to read the Catechism." knowledge
"Our God is an awesome God, He reigns from heaven above, with wisdom, power and love, Our God is an awesome God...(wish I could type musical notes) fear of the Lord
Every age, every phase of childhood brings new and wondrous challenges, for sure. But deep treasures are plumbed from the hearts of children who desire holiness.
So, it was Father's Day, too. Which gives me pause to reflect on the father of my children. He still makes me feel like a schoolgirl. Father's Day was invented to guys like him. And he's uber cool.
Hi Sparky! I love you!
