Catholic brain

Tonight, as every night, I sat with Rosebud to say prayers.  Now nearly twelve, she's been able to say prayers on her own for ten solid years.  But we should pray together.  Really.

We have night prayers we say together.  Tonight, however, I departed from tradition and said this:

Bless us, oh Lord and these, thy gifts

which we are about to receive from thy bounty

through Christ our Lord, Amen.

For you Catholics, that's FUNNY.  For you non-Catholics, that's GRACE BEFORE MEALS.

It's a beautiful little prayer.  BUT IT'S GRACE, for crying out loud.

So, clearly lotta thought went into those prayers.  GAAH.
