Before I move on the the delightful topic of math with young children, must share this poem that Rosebud wrote this morning, after we read, The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe.  She was, apparently. overwhelmed with imagery, rythme and artistic fervour.

TRANSLATION:

THE JUNGLE TIGER

Birds are one of the beautifulest
Animals of the jungle
Like a little gorilla bundle
See thee in or set thee out,
of the fiercer tiger pout
When the hunter approach
Tiger leap to jungle
Roar and flash of orange and black things
You can jump that high
Leaping into the sky,
Now he lands.
He bares his teeth and hunter shot.
Tiger lay dead.
Hunter is fine.
