back at it

So I missed blogging while we were away at camp, and while I had hoped to slip into town or a quiet afternoon on my computer to catch up, I was having too much fun.  But in the event that you were waiting with bated breathe to know how much butter you need to feed eighty people for a week, the answer is sixteen pounds.  But of course they didn't just eat butter.  Here are a few more examples of amounts of food that eighty people eat in the course of a week.

About eight to ten pounds of Greek Salad.  That would consist of about sixteen tomatoes, six cucumbers, three heads of romaine lettuce, six sweet onions, almost one kilo of feta cheese and about three cups of kalamata olives.

Forty pounds of prime rib.  Four gallons of ice cream.  Twelve feet square of spanakopita. Eight gallons of chicken curry.  Twelve large boxes of prepared jello. 150 taco shells.  Just a few random selected examples based on how much of a particular food was consumed per meal.  Just sharing.

It's starting to occur to me that my idea of fun isn't the same as a lot of other people's.
